The official ATO tax calculations do not include cents. They are ignored in their calculations.
You may also be entitled to tax offsets or other benefits which are not included in this calculator.
This calculator should be used as a guide only.
The calculator tries to guess whether your income is hourly or weekly. If it's wrong, you can adjust the threshlolds under the Advanced settings.

If you know the rates, you can adjust all of the individual settings. For more recent years, you can set the year under the Advanced settings.
- Enter the full time salary in the main income box
- Open the "General" options
- Enter the reduced number of hours you will be working in "Hours worked per week"
- Check the "Enable Proration" checkbox
- Enter the "Full-time equivalent hours"
- Press the "Calculate" button

The PAYE Calculator will auto calculate your saved Main gross salary. You can change the calculation by saving a new Main income.
To stop the auto-calculation you will need to delete your saved PAYE Calculator data from your User Profile settings.

Apply this if you are a non-resident. The default assumes you are a resident. -
Study / Training Loan

Apply this if you have a study / training loan. The default assumes you don't have a loan. -
Hours worked per week

The default assumes you work 38 hours per week.
For example, if you earn $42 per hour, work 45 hours per week and have a study / training loan your URL would look like https://www.atopayg.com/calculator/?q=42&h=45&l=y
Budget
Yes - you can add, remove and edit the budget categories and items under your User Profile settings tab. Look for the "Edit Template" button.
Some budget categories and items are used elsewhere on the site. If they are removed, it may break functionality in other places.
Budgets created on the old website are not supported on the new website. If an older budget is detected, it will present an option to import the older budget into the newer format. You will need to save the newer version as it no longer auto saves.
Savings
Once a goal is completed, you should delete it.
You will need to create a goal and then delete it to see the "Save to Profile" button.
User Profile
Saving your results is optional. However, it is recommended that you do save the results as this will improve the experience as you move through the various tools.
You need to complete and save all 5 tools before the summary can be generated.
